Pavilion in the Park – an update on our project to create a cafe, office and community space on the Great Field at Poundbury

Thanks to the wonderful pledges received through  crowd funding, we received over £22,000 from both on and offline donations including £10,000 of match funding from Dorset County Council Youth Fund. Our 10th Anniversary Ball raised over £30,000 and we have received two stunning grants from Sport England and The Clothworkers Foundation. We were also thrilled to receive a  grant of £10,000 from National Lottery Community Fund as well as from The Pocket Parks Fund

Local Trusts and businesses have been so generous, with our first grant received from The Alice Ellen Cooper Dean Foundation, followed by Dorchester Rotary and Round Table, Yarlington Housing Association, Women who Dine and Dorchester Arts and Food Festival. Both local Waitrose stores have also supported PiP’s too. Dorchester Town Council are being wonderfully supportive and we just await confirmation of a contribution from the local Section 106 or CIL funds from Dorset Council.

So we are getting very close to achieving the £290,000 we need to build and fit out Pip’s café and community space, being built at cost by a local builder, CG Fry, with just £23,000 left to raise! If you feel able to help us reach this final milestone, then please do get in touch or visit https://alcoholeducationtrust.org/will-you-help-us-make-it-happen/
